๐ Hope, grit, and five years of freelancing
Much success can be attributed to mentality and attitude.
The job I've had the longest is the one I created five years ago this month. I can hardly believe it! When I started my freelance business in 2020, I didnโt know if Iโd be able to make it work long-term. But I was hopeful.
That hope played a role in helping me get to where I am today. Despite a few hiccups along the way, I remained steadfast and learned to pivot when things changed. In a nutshell, much of my success can be attributed to my mindset and attitude.
Author Angela Duckworth might say I have grit. She writes that โGrit is sticking with your future, day in and day out, not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years, and working really hard to make that future a reality.โ1
Itโs true that hard work and perseverance are required to reach long-term goals. Iโve experienced this first hand since launching my business, and even before. And I will continue to encounter this as I meet resistance head on.
If youโre considering taking on a project or launching a business, my recommendation is straightforward: be persistent, patient, and passionate about your goal.
As for me, Iโm looking forward to another five years of running and growing my business. LFG.
